even easier: wire up your fast motor with diodes...

even easier: wire up your fast motor with diodes and a resistor, so when you hit forward it runs forward without a resistor, hit backwards and it runs through the resistor. bango.

it sounds like the batteries are wired up in...

it sounds like the batteries are wired up in parallel rather than in series. in parallel you would in fact get longer runtimes... but you want speed. or you could have wired up one battery backwards....

see the thing about the motors for bitcharg is that they're not supposed to be "high performance". they are very simple, as well as cheaply made so the commutator and such is very likely dirty even...
