Any one thought of an easier two speed?
hey guys, i was cheking out the zip zap forum and came across a great idea for a superb two speed mod...with out a boost button or a crazy ass microchip mod. It's basically the two motor deal that is posted on that great japanese site, but instead of using two identical motors, one would be like a 3.0 and the other be like a 1.0 or 1.6. BUT the 3.0 be attached to the reverse signal and the 1.0/1.6 is normally attached to the forward. so in essence you wouldn't have a reverse but who needs a reverse on a high speed track. So when you need a quick burst, you would press the reverse button instead of the forward. and bang! instant speed. The only problem would be the drag on the 1.0 motor so i would use a 1.6 to make it seem like a 1.0 because it's toting the 3.0 as well.
I hope to make this happen when i get one more bit, right now i have 2 but i need to have 2 stock to race at school. University just got bit charged. Later.

reverse polarity
nono...the way that the two motors worked is that they would both share a common ground connection. If I swtich the groud with the positive polairty the car would go forward if i pushed backwards. In addtion to having a boost button, it would be super boost because if you look closely backwards is actually faster than forwards. Try it. I am sure it will work as i have done the two motor deal already and instead of two identcal motors, 1 is a 1.0 and one is a 3.0
and that's that.

Someone else posted a thread like this recently... And my first reaction is where are you going to mount the 2nd motor? You would have to modify the chassis to have 2 rear axles, 1 for each engine, or something similar

you would mount it on top of the..
i was thinking of that myself until i found a way to mount it on top of the other motor. But it's offset so it's is more on towards teh front of the chassis. It's quick simple only you would have to shave a bit of the chassis on the top half of the transfer gear. It's all about connecting the gear to the transfer gear. I hope this work, i am gonna school those guys at university, what till i show them the power of boost/nos, and not just a sticker.

not to be a nerd, but isnt the phrase "Until all are One," sort of a new-age type Matrix statement? Prime rules! (now that's an idea - an optimus R/C...)

i was wondering that too..
hey..there's no need to label ppl nerds. I've always believed that it was 'till all are one'. i have it enscribed on the inside of my grad ring. Someone once told me that it was till all are won. I have no idea. But i still trust that it's till all are one.

I've changed my mind..
instead of a 1.0 motor and a 3.0 i think i'll go with a 1.6 and a 3.8 because of the lag that each motor is going to put on each other. the 1.6 will be eqivalnt to a 1.0 and the 3.8 to a 3.0.
what do you think??

for those of you who have no idea..
for those who are reading this and have no clue what i am talking about 2 motors and 4 speeds go to this site, you'll need a translator b/c it's in jap.

I did it!
it's freaking awesome..
i can accelerate out of corners without akward button flipping
just a movemnt of my left thumb and it flies out of my sight (well not really). I can't wait to unleash this bad boy on the tracks at school.
later guys

even easier: wire up your fast motor with diodes and a resistor, so when you hit forward it runs forward without a resistor, hit backwards and it runs through the resistor. bango.

which mod are you doing??
hey there, yeah, you will have to tell me which mod you are doing, the single speed 2 motor or the 2 speed 2 motor? If you are doing the 2 speed you will need to remove some FETs, those little black blocks on PCB. I've circled the ones that you need to remove, it's pretty easy to do it, just grab them with some needle nose pliers and twist. Volia!
I can't find the photo, but if you look for one in the turbo thread in bit science, i think it's in there
later
