I think you should wire your LEDs to a second battery, like those flat 3v batteries, since its probably dimming right now cause the car's battery can't put out enough current for the motor and lights...

won't extending the chassis by adding a spacer between the chassis and motor thingy be harder then lengthing the area between the steering and chassis?....since that's where the charging thingy is......
