There ya go!
Or look for a place they are building a new home or office, and ask the foreman for a piece of scrap.
Sound wacky?
Try it, you'll be amazed at what you can get with a smile and a handshake.
Heeeeym wait a minute, that's what you guys were doing to me!
The difference is that there is no shipping or mailing charges, etc.
I'm glad you guys got my meaning with the antenna offer. I was joking about selling them for a dollar each.
I received about eight e-mails asking for antennas, and I thought it remarkable.
QFM is selling 4 for a dollar, does that make them a better deal than mine?
Look, it doesn't HAVE to be cat 5 cable. It can be wires from a piece of phone cable, as long as it's solid core, and not huge like some older phone wire can be. (You'll know)
I have stated before that I have about 13cm of antenna visible. That would be considered a little long to some people, but keep in mind that the more length you can get away with, the better it will receive, and keeping it straight and the transmitter antenna pointed up will make a big difference.
Keeping both antennas oriented the same way is known as "Polarization".
Fer instance:
If one is vertical, and one horizontal, it results in a measurable amount of signal loss (measured in db) due to "cross-polarization" of the antennas.
Antennas can be thought of the same way speakers in a sound system can.
They can be made to resonate a specific frequencies, and the more efficient they are, the less work the system has to do, thus operating more better.
