Angry crapy 3.0 motors

I just got a new 3.0 motor in the mail and there is only only 1 probolem with it, it only goes forward and not backwards on the groud. but when i hold it in the air it seems to go perfect forward and backward, but when i put it down it craps out.

Is there any thing i can do with out taking the engine apart.

id like to here your sujestions!!!!!!!!!!

Are you using it in a Tomy car or a clone? Some of the clones have problems with the faster motors.

I'm not sure. I don't have any clones. Sit on the topic for a bit. There's probably someone around here who knows.

You may want to try and adjust the position of the motor in your clone. Try to make sure that the tab is aligned properly to the one on the motor. It seems that some clones are very sensitive to that.

Also if you can, try different sets of gear ratio's. Some of my cars wont run the greatest with taller gears. But again the motor mount plays a big roll.

ive dealt with this.

and ya it seems to be the little connection on the back of the motor not hitting the connector in the car. try putting a tiny drop of solder on the connection on the battery. tomy motors are shorter than most of the clone motors i have bought. i had my buddy put solder on two that i was havin trouble with and now i have no troubles with them except for the fact that they should be even faster. heh
