Testing the waters...

Would anyone be interested in contributing articles, photos, reviews, etc about the Combat Digi Q tanks for a web site dedicated just to the little tanks?

Just testing the waters here to see if there is any interest in doing something like that.

i would be interested in viewing a site for the tanks, but seeing how slow news about them comes along...it wouldn't make for a very active site. look at this section....

Heheh, don't hold back?

Well I regeistered combatdigiq.org for the future home of a fan site. The fact that Konami has made an English language version of their conbat digi q web site leads me to believe one of two things.

1) They are tired of answering all of the crazy non-japanese people pestering them.

-or-

2) The demand has justified it and the possibility of Konami making the tanks available on the American market.

I tend to be an optimist so I like number 2 a lot, but either way, I'd like to have a "one stop" information source for us and future fans of the little tanks. I hope to have a source page with as much infromation as I can get on it and a forum. The forums are already being tested here. The front page should be up within the next month and the whole thing should eventually get formatted to look a whole lot better than it is now.

That idea has potential . . .

I would be interested. My opinion is that there are upcoming developments that should increase the popularity of Digi Q Combat.

Upcoming release of the controllable turret and sound system, are two of the reasons.

The quality of the newer tanks is much better.

Possibly some were turned off by problems with earlier tanks.
These problems are due to two things, motor matching/quality and NiMH battery problems.

For instance, changing the battery in one of my early 'dog' tanks, has transformed it into a great performer. The new battery even improved straight line performance.

It is difficult to obtain the correct cells for battery replacement. I had to buy 100.

Anyway, all four of my newest tanks have no problems whatsoever. They drive straight and are agile. My 4x8 field is almost too small.

You replaced the batteries? How? What kind did you use?

See right there is something that would be good for the page! I've considered doing it but honestly have never attempted such a thing because I have no idea how to do it.

I knew somebody would ask that! I don't plan to leave!

I just had the itch to do a web site with a friend and this is the subject we decided on. Something to kill time really. Also there isn't a site dedecated to just the tanks that I could find.

In fact I plan on putting a link up for this site in case some fanatic of mini RC stuff happens upon my site.

well, i guess i'm that person

i hope it goes well. these amazig little tanks really suffer from a lack of product development news etc. we all seem to be in the dark as to when the new ones will be available....no industry updates, inside information, hobby show news, nothing but the ocassional odd news clipit from someone....

i'm hoping when the new ones are out, this section will pick up some

The Combat Digi-Q well deserves it's own Fansite, so I'm glad to see you're interested in building one for it zot.

I've been wanting to do more for the Combat-Qs myself, but being a Mod, having my own site AND a full time job jams me up pretty well.

If the Turret Controllable Combat-Q are as Badass as we all think they'll be though...WATCH-OUT! I'll have NO CHOICE but to set a seperate section on my website for them then!

Good luck and if you do go ahead, make it KICK ASS!

Thanks for the support. Right now I have a phpnuke home page and forum. They haven't formatted yet, but they should be soon. A friend and fellow fanatic is doing web work in his spare time. Once we get there I just have some graphic work to do. After that, it'll be time to fill the site up with some content. Once we get there, I'll let everybody here know.
