The Tennis Courts Testing Grounds
I finally took my ride out for a little wide open running.
Here was my set up:
Skyline
AWD Upgrade
Ball Bearings
Stage 2 30K Drift Motor
3 DEG. Tie Rod
Blue Hard Springs
Hard Treaded Tires On Wheel Upgrade
Results:
One word....FUN! lol
No really, range was great...I think. No problems or stuttering until about 80 feet, then it stuttered, but still responded until 100ft where I ran out of room at that point.
Once I got the trim straight, the car would track straight really well the entire 80ft. I'm not very good at judging speed, but I would say it was around 20mph. Acceleration to that speed was excellent, maybe 15 ft, and braking was about 5-6 feet. Again, I'm not good at judging that stuff, so maybe take it with a grain of salt until you can try it out yourself. (Let me know how I did.)
The car ran a little bumpy even on the smooth tennis court surface, but that may be from the stiff shocks. It still stuck pretty well. I could even get the rear end to come around, and didn't flip once.
Steering was excellent. This thing turned on a dime, even at high speed. A lot better than what I was getting in the kitchen, but then again, I had a lot more traction on the tennis court surface.
I'm going to take my other cars up there tomorrow or the next day with some different set ups. I would like to try the 2WD with the flat out speed motor, and try the softer springs to lessen the bumpyness.
I think I have found my new playground at the tennis courts. Now I just need to make some barrier walls that can moved and make a track.

oh thank you thank you thank you. i have been dien to see close ups of that for so so long. you just made my day a whole lot better. the reason i got the supra is because of how the car and the backlights look in real life and im a lot hapeir now because i know tht my x mod will look like a real one.
did you get any bodykits for the supra because they are gonna look so nice with that bombex bodykit and white truly is the best possible color for a supra

I will admit I wasn't going to get the Supra, but now that I have seen it in person, I'm glad I did. The only body kits available at the time is the RSX. I will get the Supra and Skyline body kits once they are available.

AWD and stage 2 mix quite well. Use the highest gears, you will still have TONS of tourqe. Radio Shack isn't kidding with the heatsink .

OK, I went back today with the same set up except I used the 2nd fastest stage 2 motor and the red soft shocks.
The speed did increase noticably. Based on what I had yesterday, I would say the speed was about 25mph, but you could tell a difference.
Also, the soft shocks worked great. The bumpiness was gone in the car, and I didn't have any problems with bottoming out as far as I know.

yeah i took my x out on the tennis courts today and man that is the best. i agree range is great and if you start to run out of range hold the controler over your head and it'll go a good bit farther. i have been using the stage 2 drift(white) motor with a stock setup. the tennis court did put up a lot more traction then my garage and basement but no more than the drift motor can handle. they reall werent kidding when they made this motor cause with enough traction you can pull 180s(in either foreward or reverse) while still being able to do controlled 90* 4 wheel drifts and pull out of them nicely.
i really like my x-mod
