I saw these cars on here and had to get one. Im trying to get it to fit on a zip frame but its to boxey and the tires rub. Im narrowing the frame up front but they still hit a lil. They also are to wide to turn in the wheel openings so those will have to be widend also. I was hopeing to tuck the wheels in enough so I wouldnt have to do that but I dont think thats going to happen. The only things ive done so far is cut the frame and slim down the steering section and epoxied it back on to the back half with angle plastic pieces. Has anyone else gotten one of these bodies to work yet and if they did how? Also other than it hit I dont want walls really on the frame so I can add extra cells easily. Since its a metal body I figure im going to need a couple.
Nice, I'm glad my pics inspired you. I gave up on the wheels only because time and other projects weren't permitting. You will definatly wanna do a dual or even a triple cell on this one if you plan on racing it at all. the diecast is just too heavy. I used a single cell and turbo and it moved okay for the weight of the body. If you'ld like some tips or if I could help in any way email me at sessiz10@hotmail.com
I wanted to get one of those cars to put on a ZZ chassis. seeing the trouble your going through, I'm glad I didn't, but did you see the lowered S-10, with the blue flames? I love it.
Please let me know what you did you get those wheels to fit.... I bought that same car 1 week ago with the intentions of putting those wheels on with my Black Mustang Body....
Let me know how you got those wheels on please.... Step By step would be nice..... I have already been to that QFM site but really dont unnderstand those Directions..
I had the same thoughts in my head concerning the Escalade from the same line Deuce...but i didnt like the way the front end looked and i was suspect of the steering. I may fiddle some more but its just DAMN heavy.
Those cars are sweet indeed. So sweet that i have already trimmed the frame on the Civic Si and the Chevy S-10 to fit Zip Zaps and casted them for everyone. I had received quite a bit of feed back in regard to these after Sessiz began working on his a while back. The Civic is Nice but i REALLY dig the Chevy S-10....but the Civic is HOT lol.

To get these rims up front I started by removing the old back hubs of the original rim. I just used a pair of needle nose plyers and pulled the pin out. Hold on to the steering peices tight when you do it so you dont crack any of those peices. Once those were off I started on the hotwheel rims. I got them off the chassis and pulled off the tires and then pulled the white part off the black part of the rim. Then I cut the lil axel holding them together in half and pulled out each peice of the axel left. I then had to drill a lil bigger hole in the black peice of the rim so I could use the zip zap pin. After that just use the zip zap pins and push the new rims on. Sorry I dont have any picture of what ive done so far. I really dont recomend using these rims there to big and rub on the chassis. You'll have to do some serious mods to your chassis to get them to be able to turn. I had an extra broken car to mess with but if yours is running I wouldnt mess with these rims. I do have one question for some of you guys. What color gears should I use. I was just going to use blue since the car weighs so much and I have a lot of them?
Yeah Suntzu28 the steering part sucks so far. Ive gotten fair clearence in the frame but cause there not in enough the wheels they hit the body. I guess ill try making the openings bigger but dont want to chip the paint off. Ill try putting masking tape over it. Besides narrowing the frame I sanded down the white and black part of the rims but there still so wide. Sessiz10 you got any good ideas. I also had to trim a lot off the frame in the back too. But I havent mouted up any tires to rear axel yet.
Try cutting the front rims in half ( if you have a dremel sand them down so they are half the width they are now ...or whatever width is adequate so they can turn). A "thinner " rim will allow more turning radius and you may be able to place the rims closer to the body in the front so they have more room to turn ( which defeats the turning radius but im sure you will find a happy medium).
Personally that should do it...as it seems to be coming together here ( but im using a casted replica as the test body).

That's a Hot Wheels "Car Tunerz" body and wheels, right?
I picked up one of those a few days ago to modify for a Zip chassis. I'm hoping to make a little progress tomorrow, when I can borrow my brother-in-law's dremel.
I don't know if I'm brave enough to try getting those Tunerz wheels onto my ZipZap, though
Mind You i haven't done this yet, but the way I was gonna do it was...
For the front I planed on using the zips rim (the part that holds the hub cap) as spacer this should correct the steering radius. I was gonna just glue the tunerz rim to the zip hubs. I'm a lil busy now but I will elaborate later and supply pics if needed.
I got the back pretty much hooked up. I still need to glue the passenger side rim on but just slapped it on anyways for a pic. Does anyone now where I can order just a booster board? I just need the board.
