It should....
The IC-3's put out 1.45 volts, so 6 x 1.45= 8.7 volts....It may or may not handle it well....Some people have fried it on 9 volts, others have taken it up to 8, so see for yourself......at your own risk....

the TRUTH
Charlie Brown does not lie....This is the setup I'm running. His measurements in Voltage are correct too. This makes me so happy....sniff...sniff...

the meaning of life
It means that you didn't make up some BS like 95% of the people here do and that somebody telling the truth for once made me so happy I could almost cry......take a compliment!!!! Bow to your kudos!!!

Oh, sorry theMonster. I have a disturbed little mind.....lol
I would recommend using 5 cells with the IC-3's, they DO put out higher voltage, just be careful.

I run 6 Ic3's no problem going to try 7 nexted
Yea it's all in the title who ever said they run at 1.45 volts I'm pretty sure that's with out a load or something like that But I'll tell you how it handles the 7 IC3's when it get it done

you're right
I'm the one who tested the IC3s at 1.45V, and that was fresh out of the charge with the test leads of the Fluke meter going to the + and - ends of the batteries, respectively. I did test all 6 batts though and it was consistent with no load. This was the most accurate way of measuring the batts though because when you talk about "load" that's more related to motors, when you refer to batteries then the proper measurement would be "drain" and different devices have different amounts of drain... i.e. an lcd clock will have significant less drain than a flashlight.. so you were right about there being no load/drain measurement because that would skew the results.
**edit** I am VERY curious to see how your 7th cell works because that would put you up to 10.15V and everyone that I've heard that goes into the 9v range goes toasty, albeit it takes some time, in the case of one guy here, he ran 9.6v for 10 minutes before it RIP, so do us a favor and run through the whole battery before announcing success/failure. Unfortunately by experimenting like this, this is the only way we'll find at what V it will fry at. Good luck Mr Bigshot!!!
