yes you do need it because it keeps the gear...

yes you do need it because it keeps the gear between the motor and the diff from jumping around and striping out eventually

no you didnt get riped i almost bought one on ebay for $80 shiped with nothing. untill i went to the radio shack site and got one for $50 and a stage 2 motor for $16. everything together with 2 day...
