Try removing your crystal from the car body and...

Try removing your crystal from the car body and then putting it back in, making sure it is snug. If this does not help you may have fried your receiver by touching the battery contacts the the heat...

I don't own a mini-z and I'm not sure if the bearings are sealed or not. As for fitting them into an Xmod, they are wider than the RS bearings, but the XMod might allow enough room to sqeeuze them...

The Xmods bearings are 6mmx3mmx2mm, I believe a mini-z uses 6mmx3mmx2.5mm, which means the smaller bearings probably work. The last number is only the width of the bearing.

If you're searching for bearings the metric conversions(I believe) are 3mm inner 6mm outer and 2mm wide. This should help alot.

Your motor is more than likely not mounted...

Your motor is more than likely not mounted properly. Take out the motor and put it back in, insuring that the clip goes all the way in and has no play. Hope this helps.
