I used about 6' and my range went about 40-50 feet from 20 feet originally. I gotta try measuring it, but once you make the antenna+foil so long, you won't see any range improvement.

I just did the antenna mod for my controller and I still only get 7 feet from my Bit Char-G Blue Skyline :(

I did it differently from the QFM. Instead I took out the old antenna, and superglued...

On the other side of my (Blue) Skyline controller...I think I removed the crip cap...it led from L3 to the antenna wire. Looks just like the crip cap in...
