Here are a few technical schematics for the micro motors that made the world of Micro RC Hobby possible. We (QFM Racing) came across these when searching for a manufacturer in China or in the US that would produce custom third party motors for the BitChar-Gs. Our results were disappointing. Most manufacturers required a minimum order well into the 10,000 unit mark. Also, it is cheaper to select from a current specification that they have available, but most specs did not have sufficient RPM for our application. Most specs averaged 6,000 - 11,000rpm.To create a custom spec requires a retooling cost which can be quite steep. If the order is for a very large quantity, say 10,000+, then retooling is free, and samples are produced ahead of time for your approval. Also, US based manufacturers often have a "minimum annual sales" requirement. So if you don't sell "N" thousands of dollars a year in retail sales, then you cannot solicit them. Although these companies produce hundreds of different motor types, I have only posted those with dimensions and specs compatible with our application (BitChar-Gs).
