Gears and motors

Do you think getting a 2.6 motor or 2.2 motor would be a good idea? I hear that 2.6 and above slow down after a while. Also, would the 8.25:1 gear be best for acceleration? What do I get if I want better handling and what do I get if I want good drift?

the best for acceleration would be 12:1 i think the 2.2 motor i have is good but ive heard 2.6 kit motors are good too.
for handling i think the 2.2 is best too with med. suspension

Ive never heard that 2.6's and above slow down, but if you want torque and over all better speed then the 2.2 i would go with the 2.6. Here is the link to the MS axels That may help a little. There is also a pic i found in Namuna's signature. Here ya go:
