KONAMI Exclusive Charger for DIGI-Q TANK

I just got my 4 bay charger and it's great. I bought it on ebay from Takashi Onomura. He shipped it on Friday, and it came on Monday. Wow! The instructions are in Japanese, but, it is pretty easy to figure out. It takes 4 'C' cells or a 6VDC charger. When you insert a tank in one of the bays, a status light comes on to indicate if the tank is charging or allready charged. Evidently it detects the battery condition, but, I'm not sure yet. While the battery is being charged, the LED lights red, when it is done the LED lights green. This thing is really cool! It will save on 'AA' batteries in the transmitter. Radio Shack probably has a compatible charger DC adaptor. Once I find out which RS part to use, I will post the part number.

Adaptor for 4 tank charger

Have now had a chance to try a wall wart AC adaptor with the 4-bay charger successfully.

The one I had handy was a Stancor STA-4850. This is a 5VDC, .600A regulated supply. It only puts out 5 volts regardless of load. The correct Radio Shack plug is part number 274-1532. That is a 4.0mm O.D x 1.7mm I.D. coaxial power plug. The center pin should be wired to the positive wire of the supply.

As far as I can tell, the charger performs the same with this adaptor as it does with the 4 'C' cells. It's just cheaper to operate.

Is anyone else using one of these chargers?

Konami AC adapter for charger

I have the charger as well and it is very handy. I finally manged to find the Konami AC adapter, it is DC6V, 800mA, barrel negative. I cant suggest using one of these outisde japan since its only rated for 100V wall power. Not that it probably makes any difference, but I figured I'd say that.
