Exclamation Hey all I'm new here and need some help!!!

Anyway I'm new to this site (of course) and this little hobby. Anyway yesterday I bought a new car and a 3.8 engine with it (so proud). Anyway I need some help on a few things. For one I bought a Panther typre car is that a good brand of car? Heres the link to the same page I bought it from

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=2565.

Did I make a good choice? Also I heard of people modifying their cars so they can run like a 1/2 hour to an hour or more by charging their vehicles 10 minutes. How can I do this? Also I need some kind of modifications guide on some site or something to make my car the best there is (not literally). Anyway thanx for your help and time.

I don't know anything about Panther clones. I have only had 2 clones that I like: Precious Char-A, and LXX. I would much prefer to get an actual Microsizer or Bit Char-g. (same thing) If you dig your Panther however, then you made a good choice. If you like it, who's to tell you otherwise?

Mod's... Hmm...

First off, do you want super speed? Super torque? Just long run time?

Someone makes a 210mah battery for these that would be very nice for run time. If you get a peak charger (slower charging, but fuller charge), you could get insane run times with the 210mah. Just use a search engine to find it.

If you want serious speed, you could always add another battery to it. There are several ways to add a cell to either boost run time, or boost performance.

Look up the "Layman's dual cell mod" in 'Bit Science'. It'll show you how to put 2 or 3 cell's in the stock hole. Lower run times though. If you want good run time and fast car, just add another normal cell to it. This will require some body modifications, and soldering.

Browse around the forum and see whatcha can find. Check in the mod's section, and 'Bit Science'.

Welcome, and Good Luck!!!

welcome to the boards!! im not sure if a panther is the same as a shen, but if it is, you prolly just picked up the best clone there is.... maybe a new body would make it look better, but when it ocmes to preformance, nothing beats a shen!

if you ask me, however, authenticity is still my top choice... Microsizers or Bit char-gs are still my favorire.. .even tho my shen runs a lot faster than my bit =P

I also would like to welcome you!

*The best thing you can do right now is spend an afternoon or an evening reading the mods on Quest For Madness.com.*

It was this one site that ignited my modification madness.
It will fill you in on the generalities of these cars and the different mods that are out there.

welcome to the boards.

your panther would make a good project car. my first project car was the skyline history set. i mangled up the wires good! it still lives but, well i shoulda practiced modifying a clone.

and when you do get another bit, id recommend the mspro. the boost/blaster will take a bit to get used to but if you do the alternate boost button...(by chelboed), you wont be dissapointed.

theres a whole lotta mods you can do. and if you need bodies for your bit, check ebay....theres a guy selling 8 bit racer bodies for like 3 bucks. i got a chance to hack up some of these bodies for dual cells and such.

have fun with the mods.

Welcome to your doom!

You're hooked now baby! The Panther was a good choice. The Shen would've been better but you'll get 'em next time. Read these web sites, great information. That's how I learned, from those that have already tried & done......

Checked out the Ebay page you posted Jr08bll......

Dave is Crazy! Commit his Hinpots! Maybe I read it wrong but if he wants $19.00 for a 3.8 motor, but just $15.00 for a clone + $4.95 S/H ???? Yeah he's crazy alright.

Before you purchase any further, post on the boards, you can probably get the best price & info on what you're interrested in, just ask! If you need some part houses & forums to look at, email me....

another good place for detailed mods is, RCmod.com they also sell gears, since you're looking for them.

just email them at info@rcmod.com, if you can't find what you're looking for in the store.

the Panther is a good car. i personally like Precious, Panthers and Shens. play with it and see what you think.

welcome to the boards!

Not A Stupid Move.......

Just a Rookie Mistake, been there! All the info you need to be "Micro Saavy" is out here, you just need to know where to find it. Your first purchase wasn't that bad, just don't let it happen again. My first purchase was a Z-Car, then a ZipZap ???? Right now those 2 get no play, very very low milage, especially the ZZ. It's untouched though it will get a Dual & Perfection 3.8 when I get time to dilly, dally with it.
