Strange Observation, zip zap red motor in a 1 cell bit booster, and in a tricell.
i put a red zz motor in my 350z bit booster today and for a second i thought my booster was broken.
There is no speed change when u hit boost when using
a red zz motor in a bit booster (mines a 350Z). the only difference is seen on standing starts. has anyone ever noticed this before?
possible reason. unboosted, the bit still can provide enough
current/voltage to allow the red zz motor to run at full speed. hitting boost just gives it more initial starting tq(current).
i wanted to get readings badly, but my multimeter needs a new battery. so for now it's all seat of the pants drag testing. lol
i did some additional testing: all on a single cell 160mA 350z bit booster, blue gears, sticky wide clone tires:
I then swapped in a pink 3.8 into the booster car.
unboosted is very slow. ick
boosted is fast, but takes a little to accelerate.
perfection 3.8:
unboosted is about the same speed as a 2.2 boosted.
boosted, gets up to speed quickly and flips on most corners. blue gears, sticky clone tires.
red zz motor:
almost the same speed as the boosted perfection 3.8, but even more hellacious tq. works very well with aqua gears.
***
the killer test. i put the red zz motor in the tri cell bitzap..OMG it's faster than my 3 cell 1/43 viper.
it beats the viper in a 10 foot drag on both kitchen floor and carpet. kitchen floor took a few attempts..both
cars just like to spin in circles..had to mop the floor first and start both cars on a thin peice of balsa wood..lol
i must have gained a mph or two over the clone motor i was previously using in the tricell. and it's MUCH faster tq and top speed than a perfection 3.8.
i'll need to test out tiny's Formula 3.4
(i assume the r-spec is similar to a perfection 3.8)
fyi..the red zz motor was well used in my original zz.
it squeels like a pig on the tricell.

Interesting.
I love the turbo motor, all I ever used in my 3cell zip. I didn't find it beating the perfection though when that's in a 3cell. I gotta try the turbo in the booster to see what happens.

I ran into that same problem in my booster. It seems to be only slightly faster (barely noticable) boosted and other than that it just makes a slightly higher pitch noise like it's trying to go faster. Anywho...I've been curious about this too but personally have no idea why it's not faster boosted. Maybe one of our local motor experts that has a booster can help.
(Yeah I know my post isn't much help...but I guess it shows that it's not just him having this "problem" hehe)
