Bitmod1 or DKS ?

hmmm =\ the prices on the bitmod1 3.5+150mAH battery = 11 or 12 bucks USD... the 3.4 costs 11 USD alone... so the prices... =\

but is the bitmod1 really... a bad, unreliable motor?

I had 2x of the bitmod1 3.5's and 1x of the 3.8's. They were both VERY slow off the line. Absolutely no torque. I can't stand not having torque. I would try DKS just to try something new. Oh yeah, bitmod ship time for me was more than 3 weeks.

i think the 3.4 from dks rocks but shipping time was like 2 months and that is not an exaggeration it was out of stock and on back order though.

I think Perfection 3.8 from Toyeast is better.. and they usually arrive in less than a week

ok...thanks for your opinions..i think im gonna settle with bitmod1 because of the prices...and the deals that come with it

I have had 3 of the bitmod1 3.5's. The first 2 had incredible acceleration and torque (better than perfection 3.8), the last one is lacking torque. I had one die on me after just a few runs, which they replaced and threw in a battery to boot. Shipping time was not bad. I asked about the life expectancy of the 3.5 when I had the one die, I was told it was 3 million revolutions, which works out to 85 minutes! If the perfection 3.8 actually does have a life expectancy of 580 hours or whatever they say over at toy east, then that would be a far better deal. BTW I have 2 of the perfection 3.8's, they work great so far. I have not tried the DKS 3.4, I do have a DKS 2.8 and 3.1 (zip zap style) which I have been using quite a while in 2 cell cars with no problems, they are both fast in single cell cars as well. Try the dks 3.4 because I want to try one too.

see now this i like to hear... bdebde, how are your 3.5s doing rite now...? lasted mroe than 85 minutes i hope

maybe it's the version of the motor that makes the difference.. well ralliart, we'll sure as hell see about that sooner or later...

anyone else got any comments?

I have had 2 bitmod1 3.5's and I have had to send them both back to be replaced. They are great motors, but kinda flawed. I don't have any DKS motors but hear good things about them. Right now I am waiting for my R-spec and Formula 34 mototr

The Perfection 3.8 I've got right now is my favorite. It has awesome torque off the line and is really speedy. Another plus is that it runs quiet as a 2.2/2.6. Some people probably don't factor that in (speed rules but stealth kills!) bdebde and I have concluded that the bitmod1 3.5 runs faster than a Perfection 3.8 in a booster car (boosted and unboosted) So you can take that into consideration

I ordered three 3.5s from BitMod1 when they were on sale because of "The Admiral's" great review. Two of them were horrible out of the bag... slow like a 2.2 but WAY less torque. I shipped them back almost 4 weeks ago... I sent an email 10 days after I shipped them to verify their arrival... 4 days later BitMod1 emailed me back to confirm they had received them.... 2 weeks later, still no replacement motors. To top it off, on it's 2nd run, the third motor started squealing like a pig and running slower than any motor I've seen.

BitMod1 = bad motors + bad service

They did, however, bill my credit card extremely fast.

I have one bitmod1 3.5 still running fine (the one with less torque), one is getting tempermental, and the other died after trying it with 2 cells. I did get more than 85 minutes runtime, each probably has several hours of runtime on them. Nowhere nere the advertised 580 hour life of the perfection 3.8 (running the sh*t out of mine to see if they last).

Yeah, my bitmod1 3.5 is being sent back to Scott for the 2nd time now. You are right about it being faster in a booster car. I ran mine in my 350Z for a couple of days and I think it could not take the added stress of a booster car. You know of anybody else with this problem? Right now I have been running my Perfection 3.8 and my newly aquired Formula 34 in my booster. They are bot equally fun

with torque to spare! I love my Perfection so much I just ordered 2 more.

I finally got my replacement 3.5 from Scott, and he included a free 150mah battery (that was cool of him)... this motor is faster that my formula 34 with maybe a hair less torque. Hopefully it will last because I like the hell out of it. And, in all fairness to BitMod1, he mentioned that he'd been sick, so that explains the bad response time I experienced before. He has been prompt with his replies since then. I take back what I said above
