yeah..the MGA's have the motorized steering.
with a potentiometer u might be able to adjust the speed of the steering motor slow enough that u can get proportional steering to some effect.

i still don't get how the steering motor is wired to a bit. no matter what button you press, it would have to be a positive going to one side and a negative going to the other.
plz help me out here. is the positive split in two and then the left and right wires go to each end of the motor?

There are bit clones out there that use a motor to steer with (I have some)and I have bit clones that only have one coil and two magnets instead of the tomy design of two coils and one magnet.
There alot of differences between all the micro cars subtle ones but still differences.

pcb's
i have a micro blast racer which uses motorized steering. it does not resemble the pcb in the picture.
since no one seems to know how to hook up the steering motor with a bit pcb i'm assuming he probably used a motoworks pcb.
