4 band controller= big time disappointment

I've already searched through a bunch of old 4 band topics and found no answer so I'm starting a new thread....

Why is the tomy 4 band controller such a piece of &$#@! ?? I only got about 2 or 3 feet -out of the box- with this thing and then only about 8 feet with a telescopic antenna mod.

Im thinking there HAS TO BE a crippling capacitor on this thing somewhere (possibly an SMD capacitor). But I guess no one has found it yet? This info would be of great help to myself (and I'm sure a few others)..... So anyone know what's up with this thing??

Thanks if anyone has any info

If anyone else could shed some light or review their controller that'd be cool. I'm thinking about getting one. Do these work with LXX booster cars too?

Arrow I completly agree

I must agree that there is something holding this controller back from its range potential.
The quality of the controller itself is much better then the standard ones you get in the set, it feels so much better and there is way less strain on your fingers during extended play but the range restictions will make your car bog during a race.
I don't even get 8 feet out of it because I have not done the antena mod. ( I would actually like to have some instructions on this)
I have opened up the dam thing which is very hard to put together but cannot find a cripple capacitor in it. It may be that it looks different then the ones in the standard controllers.

If anyone can help on this I would greatly appreciate it as well!

yeah, that was -my- other post I posted on both boards since I was so DESPERATE for answers!

This really sucks since the 4 band -does- feel so much better and doesn't have the "clicky" buttons....they're soft like a game controller. Too bad the range is so terrible!
