My 3.8 has come!!!!!

Oh yea!!!!!! My 3.8 and battery came. The 3.8 is a lot better than my 3.0, it even has more torque! Using 7.07:1 gears, dang this thing is fast! I'll do the layman dual cell tomorrow. Can't wait to see this speed demon. They say the 3.8 has very little torque that it can't even go on crapet. Mine can go on my rough carpet rug. This is the best motor ever! I can do 2 inch radius turns ith it because I have a fullsize wheelset making the wheels rub against the body in turns.

My 3.8 didn't want to work at first. Then I got it working, when it's working, it has plenty of torque. Enough to run on some low shag carpet (car wont steer though ), and even do some off roading on my bed, and that's using stock 9.86:1 gearing, 12:1 is better. I like my 3.2 because it's nearly as fast as the 3.8, but acceleration is instant. The 3.8 takes a couple feet to reach full speed.

The endbell on my 3.2 gave out recently, and I miraculously managed to save it, with an endbell from a 1.0, but then last night my 3.8 stopped dead. This time the problem was not the endbell, but in the can somewhere. the Tomy motors are not coreless, so the only other coreless can I had was my 3.2, so I opted to sacrifice my 3.2 for my 3.8. I'm pretty bummed that I only have one fast motor now, but at least I have an excuse to buy a R-Spec now. Actually I think I'll get a another 3.2 too, because I loved that motor.

Dave
