5 Cars out of production for good??

Food for thought....The radio shack web site now only shows 5 cars, the 2 porsches,the 2 older civics and the yellow mustang are off the page. Also, the fast and furious kit and a few others are no longer shown.

The rumor I hear (very unreliable, but I will say it anyway) is that some cars are permanently out of production, to make room for the new ones. Also may tie in with the new Fast and Furious movie. Also a rumor that the lack of fast and furious kits is because one or more of the new cars will come with the NOS motor standard (although the NOS motor may be renamed again to fit in with the Fast and Furious 2 movie).

A smart and very rich marketing genius named Ty Warner learned about the power of short production runs to boost sales of future items to the masses, who would hope to get the next rare and difficult to find item (beanie babies). Is "The Shack" stealing a page from the master of marketing. Stay tuned....those Fast and Furious kits may become the first of many hard to find and valuable ZIPZAP items. We shall see.....but remember, this was told to me by someone who I dont consider to be very reliable. But hey....interesting to consider....dont you think.....

Just remember....the best way to achieve market penetration (and profit) is to reach the widest audience possible, and collectors and E-Bay scalpers are a very wide audience.

I heard the same thing today, although I consider my sorce somewhat reliable. RS is supposed to be coming out with 12 new bodies in the next year. I dunno about the F&F kits but what you wrote there rings true. I just wish I had picked up more

I wonder where they draw the line of building interest ( as mentioe din the first post) and losing money ( by not having enough product)?

Yes a sell out is a sell out but wouldnt you want a larger quantity moved in the sell out?

the fast and the furious bodies and kits are going out of production for good because fast and teh furious wants too much money and zip zaps wont pay that much. I haven't heard about teh new bodies but cant wait....

DMan that makes sense ( F & F product is EVERYWHERE so im sure they want big bucks for the name) but considering that the new movie is coming out and i have heard that new bodies were being made to promote the movie by RS (Zip Zaps) you have to wonder is this the last "hurrah" for the Fast and Furious Zip Zap cars OR are the F&F pt. 2 movie cars not going to take place at all ( which i doubt)?
