Inital D Live Action Movie in the Works!

From Kung fu cult cinema.

The filming of the big screen adaptation of the popular Manga and Anime Initial D, produced by Hong Kong Media Asia and co-produced by Jackie Chan, will begin this coming summer in Singapore and Malaysia. Andy Lau will play the tofu shopkeeper Takumi Fujiawara, his son will be played by the young actor Chan Gun-hei. Apparently that Media Asia asked Toyota to build three replicas of the AE 86 cars like in the original comic, which will be used for the filming. The script wrote by Shigeno Shuichi is still not yet finish and the casting has yet to be completed.

cad455, you're absolutely right... this is the wrong forum for this topic.

JBit, this is NOT to single you out or is directed at you in any way... it's just that this is the 2nd OT thread I've had to move in the past 5 minutes.
Guy's I know most of you know where the Miscellaneous Discussion area is... and if not then just follow the link. So if you'd all please use it in instances such as this, it would be much appreciated.

BTW JBit this is some quality info on the movie!

Thanks

i think any anime that would be made into a movie kind of blow...
they made a GTO live movie..and although it was somewhat funny...it wasnt as good....
when they make games into movies, the results are shabby....Parasite Eve, Resident Evil, StreetFighter, and countless more had horrable scripts and actors......

although jackie chan doesnt act as much as he directs now...well just have to see the results...
and since initial d is based on real life locations that should be good and authentic

Awww, jackie chan should act; he could do his own drifts instead of gettin "stunt" drivers hahaha.

I think instead of toyota making 3 replicas of the fujiwara's 86, they should re-release the 1985 Sprinter Trueno/Corolla GT-S. I doubt that will ever happen though...
