Prices

I noticed something interesting today while out looking around.

before Christmas Microsizers were $29.95 (except for the Target sale), Zip Zaps were $19.99 and iRacers were $29.99.

It now seems that with the release of the Microsizer Sports that they are now $19.95 and at the TRU is was at, iRacers are now $19.95.

It seems that with all the competition prices are dropping to a more reasonable and affordable level. It looks like the price point is going to be $20 with hopefully some really good sales now & then (imagine $10 Microsizers! We can only hope!).

Now we need a Clone Price War to bring their prices down to $10 or less with under $10 sales. It would make for great parts fodder.

Only problem with driving prices down is that the manufacturers will probably start to cut corners. I wouldnt want to see the quality of the genuine article come down a notch, and as for the clones which are already ridiculously cheap, if they come down in price, they'll probably have no qualms about lowering quality and making their workers work harder and faster - spare a thought for those chinese guys + gals slaving their butts off

On a side note, Im so jealous you guys can get clones at $2 at wallmart! I really dont believe they're making money from that, this must be a loss leader to get you into the store.

I don't think there is a need to worry about quality dropping unless the prices drop another $5 or more. The prices were just over-inflated due to be a hot new item and with availability up, the prices have settled down. There probably will be less clones out there due to smaller profits to be made and people wanting higher quality.

I wish I could find a $2 clone at Walmart. The only clones I have found there are the MotoWorks clones for $13.50.
