Long Wheelbase or Short?

Im currently doing an internal tricell bit, shall I place the batteries so that the car is longer or shorter? I have cut the chassis and half and will glue polycarbonate to both ends.

Does a longer or shorter car handle better?

I think the longer will handle better. The Zip Zaps are longer than the Bits, and they handle a bit better, but that may have to do with other aspecs of the ZZ besides the wheelbase. What are you going to do about bodies after you alter your wheelbase?

I will cut them and lengthen them with modelling epoxy putty or JB WELD.

A longer wheelbase will make the car more "stable" when driving but will create a bigger turn radius. The shorter wheelbase will be more nimble and sharper turning. Think of the difference between an old Lincoln Towncar (boat of a car) and a Miata. HTH

Hey, just try a Zip Zap chassis. Three cells fit in without mods, just flip the circuit board over so components are on top. I would suggest a PCB other than a stock Zip. I have clone or bit boards in all my Zip Zaps with 2 cell mods and the stock chassis covers on them.

I have an idea for the body, once your done, go on Ebay and bid on a Zip Zap body. There's even a Porshe 911 body you can get.

Americans can put fat in nething! Just like us in the UK!

Transplant some wheels off a toy model car or something!

I bought a bit motorbike, the pcb is like a clone, and I might put its wheels on my bit!
