Combat Digi-Q Maintenance FAQ
Just wondering if anyone has made a maintenance FAQ for these Combat Digi-Q's?
I just got an M4 Sherman today, and the noise doesn't seem to be bothering me and it's driving pretty straight - so I don't really want to open it up at the moment...
...but I'd like to keep it in tip top shape. Thanks!
J.

I opened mine up and oiled the gears and one of the motors lost all power so the tank could barely turn in on direction. I don't know if it's that the pinion gear is turning on the motor shaft because of the oil or if the oil somehow ruined the motor.

Ouch.
I'm going to be really careful with my tank because it cost me so much ... I know the guy was probably laughing, but when you see something you've been dreaming of driving around on a counter, you just go crazy.
Anyhow, I see the instructions have some minor clean-up with taking the tracks off et al. Other than that, over the long run, would much more be necessary?

Hey Panzer,
I have the exact same problem with my German Panther. I feel your pain. --Jay

Jayd177, was your problem caused by oil?

I'm pretty sure. It didn't happen until after I greased the gears using hobby teflon. For me it seems to be the gear attatched to the wheel. It was only the right side with my tank, but when I switched the sides the wheels were on, the problem followed the wheel (went to the left side).

Wow, I don't think I even looked at the wheel. I'll check it out. My first suspicion was that the pinion on the motor loosened and when under a lot of stress while turning it would slip. It goes pretty well straight but will almost not turn right.
