the civic looks so nice, the new gold one, the mustang black is getting old, with the yellow and red, the gold civic just looks so exotic

the first thing i noticed was that both the stock gold civic and black mustand were faster than my blue civic with turbo motor and red gears... after adding a turbo motor and red gears to the gold civic it flips over in most turns.

Maybe Radio Shack did a PCB mod on all of the new Zip Zaps during the production line.

Unfortunatly they did not. It's still the crappy pcb, atleast from what I gathered.

Then what did Radio Shack do to the new Zip Zaps when they were in the production line to make them faster?

They aren't any faster. I did some testing after the first reports of a speed increase and didn't find any. I used the performance motor with all the gearings and then went to the turbo and then to the nos and then to my dks2.6. It is the same stock zip.
The one thing I wasn't able to test was the performance motor that came stock with it. If there truly is a speed increase then it is in the motor and not the chassis or pcb.

well maybe my blue civic has always been a piece of crap then cause the 2 new cars are definatly faster... looks like the same pcb maybe better quality control on the new bunch .... who knows... who cares really as long as my new car is faster, and it is.

Gold Civic bodies..

I have had the same results.. I bought 2 of the new Gold Civic ZipZaps and 1 Blue PT Cruiser and the Civics are much faster than the PT Cruiser.. Maybe they updated the motor design on them or something..

By the way if anyone is interested I have a brand new never used gold Civic body sitting on my desk along with the Civic style rims.. If any of you want it bad enough to buy it you can email me with a reasonable offer at: Nitroburner@earthlink.net

That's possible.
What I wanna ask you is exactly how did you measure this speed increase?
The only thing I don't have from the stock car is the motor that came with it. I did timed runs and found no increase. I have said it maybe a thousand times, and I still maintain that if RS would just fix the pcb, or come out with a speed set that comes with a fixed pcb, They would have a much better car. I guess some more testing is called for, after the races tonight

OK well i just did some more testing and ive tried several different gear and motor combos... i run them in one car then put them in the civic and there is no need to time the difference because it is noticably faster... like the same red motor and gear that make the blue civic and black mustang reasonable fast make the gold civic almost uncontrolable in that it either flips or spins out. I thought maybe the turbo motor i had in the blue civic was shot because it was slower than the stock mustang but when i put it in the gold civic it flew. I guess i just got lucky with a fast car. I agree that RS didnt have the PCBs reenginnered or anything but I am willing to believe that since the christmas rush is over that quality control may have been stepped up or atleast enforced.
