4-band controller + reception

hi i just bought a 4-band controller yesterday and i'm not very pleased with it. it seems that the reception is just as bad, if not worst than the default controller.....i also thought that it was supposed to come with a telescopic antenna.....i've recently taken out the cripple capacitor on the car itself (my controller didnt have one) and it seems like its worst than i first got it.....is there anyway to resolve this/these problems? and is it worth it to go to radio shack to buy a telescopic antenna and if it is how much distance do i gain from it? and which one do i get? last thing i'd like to mention is that the car seems to stutter when i'm trying to turn most of the time and seems to have no response at the least expected position (the "easy" positions)...thank you...

telescoptic antenna helped my original controller about 5-7 feet depending on how big of one you get it varies but they usually add a few feet. How much range did you get on your multiband controller, i'm getting around 10-15 feet stock.

first the range is crap, but even when its up close, sometimes it starts stuttering when i start turning? wtf is up with that? and i dont think its the controller either.....and how come my friend's oem "bullet" car has amazing distance? like across a whole living room and it still works flawlessly!!!!

I would guess its in the car itself, I had a similar problem with my first booster set, i thought it was the controller, but when i used it for my Auto Medellista set it worked fine!

maybe a badbatch of cars or something!

well i bought the AM set and with the controller that comes with it i get around 20-30ft depending what part of the house I am. Compared to my 4ch controller with my 1 speed celica that gets around 12ft.

Is this happening anywhere and everywhere?? location is very important.. alot of freq interfere with the freq that the charg uses. I have a 4 band controller and it works great with my cars... it's the only controller that can control a car 20 feet away in our test lab (which is full of interferance from all the electronics)

I was just looking at the 4 band controller online, and yes, it does have a boost button, but it is called an action button on the controller.

I can always mod an antenna on the thing.

I want one!! Will they ship it to the US?

MHz

I believe it has something to do with the MHz matching.
I've opened two different 49MHz controllers, each would not control the other's car. But the crystals matched. 49.860 on both.

hmmm..
