Better bust out the soldering iron and get started with a dual batt mod. Next you can drop a few $$ and get a faster motor. And for gears, I suggest the orange gears. They're right in the middle and will give you a little more top end. If your lucky, that will be enough to win. You can send my cut to me through the forum here.....lol
Good luck.

What are the rules for the race? drop a couple lithium batts in there for 6v. (not sure if the pcb can handle it though)

Ok get yourself a duel battery mod with a wheelie bar in the back. If you have the time then get a triple battery mod. Maybe if you have room do a duel motor mod too. Try to find some wheels that are wider than the standard ones. Look for some pens with the grippy stuff and make yourself some nice tires with great traction. I assume you are drag racing so cut the steering. Or better yet get another set of back wheels take out the gear and put then on the front. Do the range mods you don't want your car to stop after 5 feet. Try to shave as much excess plastic off as posible u want this car to be as light as possble. With some putty, a sodering gun, sand paper and the rite parts your car will be amazing. That is if it doesn't fry before the race.

why don't you do a triple cell mod? there's a thread on the bit science that uses cells which are 1/3 the stock one, which means 3 cells can fit in the slot for the stock battery.....
