Stuttering clone
I have a Bensu clone, it stutters pretty badly a lot of the time. Range is decent, but at ANY range it stutters if its in 'just the wrong place' or if the aerial is held in a certain orientation..
I upgraded to the aerial to copper using basic 'bell wire' like you get from any electronics store. I've tried it with straight and coiled configurations, doesnt seem to make a difference.
Im thinking then, is it the tuning? Just need a micro screw driver and I can try it. Whadya think? Will this work, or do some dodgy clones just do this all the time?

No hair, but it is a 49Mhz which i've heard shares space with cordless phones, so it maybe cordless phones in my area interfering.
Well im doing as much research as I can into how I can improve reception, and will bring a tiny screwdriver home from work to adjust that tiny screw in the pot on the board.

the cheapest cordless phone you can buy is 900mhz. most are 2.4ghz so no they dont share the same space.

Nah, I didnt mean cell phones, I mean those analogue cordless phones that have a base station that plugs into your phone line.
I found a site thought that has given me some ideas, they even include a mod for making transmitter range to about 200ft.

read hogjowlz's post again, he is talking about the cordless phones with the base stations not cell phones.

i was talking about cordless phones.
cell phones run different frequencies. gsm in north america runs 1900mhz/900mhz in europe. tdma and cdma run in a similar band.
even old cordless phones run way higher than 45mhz.

Ok, just that in we run 900Mhz/1800Mhz here in UK for cell phones, hence thought you were talking bout those. It does say on a couple of sites ive been to that the old analogue ones use this frequency, but maybe thats just in the UK. Different frequency allocations all over the world...
