precious painting???
hey guys i was just wondering if anyone knew what to do to paint the precious bodies but first i need to know how to remove the paint. i guess using nail polish remover is out of the question huh i hear alot of people say not to use it so what should i use?
secondly how would i go about painting it would i be painting from the outside cause the body seems a bit thick?
if i was to do decal stuff how would i do that just wait for the paint to dry mask it and cut out what i want with an exacto knife
glossy appearance what should i use to get a nice and glossy look?
sorry about all the questions and them be so unorganized i just kinda tought of things as i went along.

The other "How do i get the paint off?" thread said to use pine-sol. haven't done it myself.

1.Remove the paint, any method.
2.DO NOT USE STEEL WOOL!!!
3. Mask off windows and lights and anything else you want.
Here's where it gets tricky.
4.Paint it. you do not have to paint these from underneath just take it easy on the paint. Afterwards you can dip the car in future floor cleaner or spray it with a clear acryilic spray to get that high shine.
One tip I can give you if you wanna do splashes or flames is to paint the whole car that color first. Let dry over night. Then mask off the flames or splashes or stripes or what ever. Now paint the car the main color. Let paint dry fully before you remove any of the maskings.
I hope this helped.

I remove the paint by letting it sit in thinner for a few hours and then taking a toothbrush to it. The other method is the pine sol method (which I haven't tried yet) 1 warning on the thinner, do not wash the car with water afterwards, wipe it off best you can and let it dry, the water tends to cloud the plastic.
You can use any paint from enamels to acrylics. I use a spray can (I got my skills with the can from bombing walls as a teen) while some are more comfortable with bristol brushes and air brushes.
Experiment.

Steel wool... steel wool works on larger lexan bodys because youpaint the bottom of the body, so you can essentially use a flat paint. the top of the body is still the glossy plastic/lexan. so only use steel wool if your painting on the bottom of the body.
i used rubbing alcohol to take the paint off mine... and an old toothbrush. due to the thickness of these bodys i would not recommend painting the underside of them. paint the outsied/top and then when your done, spray a few coats of clear on it to give it a good shine.
