I actually started doing that with my 40mhz zip char-g. Believe this or not I got a good 50ft (stock) with the antenna out and with it in the shell I still get atleast 20ft which is more than enough.

You sure like those BROWN wheels don't you?

I doubt ANYONE gets 50 feet of range stock...I think thats BS.

I would be surprised if anyone got more than 20 feet out of the box. Thats what my brother's 49 mhz Microsizer got, my 27 mhz got like 7 feet. New antenna and removed cripple cap, and now it gets 37 max. However it steers like ass, so Hobbico sent me a new one, and right now its stock, except for tires and the 2.6 I put in.

My zip with the 40mhz panther pcb in it get's well over 50ft with the antenna out the shell. You don't believe, that's your problem. My panther that I used for the afore mentioned pcb swap got that range STOCK before I tore the pcb out of it. I tested this in the mall and when I say 50ft I'm being kind cause it got so far that I couldn't see it well so I turned around and brought her back. Trust me when I say this I have no reason to BS anyone over the internet on a micro rc forum. What the hell would I gain?

*EDIT* One of my stock 49mhz zip gets 30ft (measured)"out the box" and the other gets a good 20ft (didn't bother measuring).

It's a clone body. The plastic itself is yellow.

I used a dry erase marker and wiped, and applied, and wiped, and applied, until I got the tint the way I wanted. I didn't try any colors just black but it worked good.

CD writer pens!

They go on nice, and take a lil effort with some cd cleaning alcohol to come off, but the whiteboard marker sounds good 2!
