new mod/axle holder fix

ok i wouldnt suggest doing this if the axle stays in place.

but if your rear axle starts to become loose this is a great mod.

my buddie who is an ee and an ex drag racer(coronet rt) were setting up a messed up obsticle course the other night ago and man it started out as a good night until the rear axle on one of my cars started to strip. he was like here and took the chassis up to a soldering iron and he melted the axle holder around the axle and kept playing with it until there was almost zero slop in the axle. which in turn keeps the motor running smoother with less vibration. which in turn gives you better torque and speed. especially in turns. which improves handling as well.

then after fixing that we were set up to drag race to test the rear axle vs the unaltered car and he was sweeping out the hallway(dragstrip) and he stepped on the unaltered car and snapped off the rear clip that holds the body to the chassis. so we took the rear end of another chassis and used jbweld to put a new rear part on. this worked pretty well.

so its been a long weekend of fixing and modding. now i have 2 working cars again. hehe

ok maybe tonight. but pretty much underneath where the axle is it looks like charred plastic. another note about the axle mod is you wont be able to remove it very easily so pick your gear ratio before doing this.

and because i'm having that problem... due to the amount of times i changed gears one of my bits has a loose rear axle wich makes the gears not work well... since the space between the pininons it's not even sometimes it stops.

this is the perfect fix. it is easy to do and makes it run smoother than factory. only drawbacks are you could mess up really bad so be careful and take it slow when heating up the plastic and you cant change the axle anymore. but there is almost no wobble anymore.

I also pressed my wheels into their axles a little more to reduce the sideways slop.

well that would fix the slippage but my friends mod went a step further and he made it so the axle has almost no slop. this is noticable in handling and torque.

nice ideas!

On my 3 cell panther the axle holder worn (wonder why?)lol, so I got some Milliput modelling exopy putty,and pushed that tight againts the axle,allowed it to dry,and it works real good!!!!

PLUS!!! U can break it off by pressing against it with a stanley knife an a lil pressure!

Did the JB WELD stick to the axle at all?

My gear on the rear axle came loose, so a a temp measure I got a glue gun and place some glue on the rim, and used a pin to press through the hot glue,so it stuck to the gear to stop it moving.

It works well,but needs jbwelding really!

Also the rear other wheel came loose, so a bit of JB weld on the shaft sorted that!
