RadioShack tools
Does anybody use RadioShack tools for their hobbies?
If so, did you find them to be sufficient tools, or did u end up looking for higher quality [brand name] tools?

So far I use soldering irons, micro-screwdrivers and other odds and ends from Ratshack without problems.
Are you looking for anything in particular that you're considering getting?

Absolutley, actually I had to replace my soldering iron recently and went straight to the "Shack". Got station for like $15, it can toggle between 15 watts for Bit pcb mods and 25 watts for those more intense jobs.

O cool, i picked up a bunch of the "core tools" from RS the last couple of weeks. I just wanted to know if other people used them also, or if they used special hobby tools.
Also, @ RS, i saw a 'helping hand'. should i get that, or look for better quality?

I picked up one of those 'Helping Hands' tools...It's been a BIG help. I have no problem recommending it.

On the subject of tools, I just picked up this rotary tool "RotoMatic" at Bed Bath and Beyond of all places. Anyway it was on sale for $20 plus I had a $5 coupon so it was a great deal, its not variable speed but it goes at about 10,000 rpm which is perfect for body mods and stuff. I tested it this weekend by doing a Body Drop on one of my Bits, by way of a new front tab. It was surprisingly excellent, plus it came with about 40 attachments, what a great find!

Ok now you've got me curious!
I just went to the RS website to find out some info on this 'Helping Hand", but to my surprise there was none .
So if either of you could provide me with some description of the tool that'd be great! It's purpose is kinda obvious judging from the name, but any additional info would be cool.
Thanks,
B

I got this link off of the FAQ's in this forum--> http://www.hobbybox.com.au/prod67.htm It has a pic of a Helping Hand. I don't think they have it at all the RS's cuz of the 3 that I go to, only one of them had it.
