racetin PCB swap with racewin project
oks, i have both the 1/32 and the 1/16 auldey cars...and ive been thinking about this for some time now....the 1:16racewin is a 2speed, and the pcb is the about the same size of the racetin pcb, if not slightly wider..id have to then use the racewin controller which is poorly designed haha, im thinking of just swapping it with my racewin controller and adding an external button or switch in the top right corner..
what i would need to do is add maybe one or 2 more extra batteries for it to use for the boost function properly...solder the wires in the correct places....etc....shouldnt take long
and im also thinking that the racewin can handle faster motors without using relays and such since it uses a bigger/faster motor....so thisll help me alot without having soo much junk under the body..
im planning on using my auldey racewin because i bought it cheap[racetin was $12, racewin was $16], and this may help people out in the future and id like to be the first, although i know someone in asia has probably done this..har har...if this works, i think u can buy the racewin PCB at carmoworld, and just go from there
if anyone says its not a good idea, or it wont work ...tell me
the only downside, i think is well...i fry something in the process hahahaha, i have extra motors to test on too...
im gonna start tomorrow

arg, this project will have to be put on hold for now, as i cant seem to make the forward work, but it goes backwards and turns....
i havent swapped the pcb's yet, just gimme some time to figure this out...
and btw, the raceWin is a piece of junk...stick to racetins guys

arrrgh...this is pissin me off
so i swapped the pcbs, and the forward still doesnt work...everything else does, the turn, the reverse...
the problem is with this one yellow wire....its the one that controlls the forward, and i have no idea where it goes...
so i randomly pick spots around the area i think it was originally at....but still no luck, i tired for an hour...
what i need is a diagram of a racewin...ill prabably have to search rodkaprong
also, i havent installed the extra batteries yet to use the turbo, i just need to make it go forward first...then im all good...
heres a pick of the mess....even though it looks like crap, it actually works....EXCEPT FOR FORWARD!!!!

well i figured out the problem
when i was carelessly soldering and desoldering wires, i kinda sorta got some on the nearby parts..and they sort of make a "bridge" to another point..
and i tried to desolder as much as i could, but all of it wont come off the pcb ;/
im not a noob to soldering, but this never has happend..haha..guess i just rushed this time around...
well does anyone know how to fully get all the solder off?

They make a special desoldering suction bulb that sucks up the solder.Or you can get solder wick it looks like a wire web and it suck up the solder.Or fin the bridge you made and try to gentelly cut it out with a xacto knife.hope this helps

arg this is getting retarded
i went to RS to by the soldering braid, and it does exactly the same thing as a desoldering tool
there is still a thin layer of solder left...and its still connected to the other joint...i think i shoulda tried to scrape it off with a knife...

MTL it works Your idea for a 2 speed using the Gaogeng race win transmitter and receiver works. My order from toys east came in and toys east.My Taiyo mini cooper was a DOA car so I put the Race win electonics in the car. What i did instead of trying to solder on the board is i used the wiring that was already on the board and conected it to the correct spots on the car.The steering rotor are the same size so I just stuck it in place of the Taiyo steering rotor. So i only had 4 wires to solder.I cut the center mounting peg in the body of teh MINI cooper body down to 1 inch long screwed the receiver in that post with front mounting hole. Then i hot glued the back of the receiver to the back inside the car.The car perfrom okay with alklines batteries in the car because you get 3 volts. The first gear is kind of slow second gear turbo works best in a straight line.If i added one mor battery to the car it would be faster. So pat your self on the back for coming up with idea.

wow....jeez i need to get back on that project!!
so how many batteries are u using? id imagine that 2stock wouldnt be as sufficient..3 is good enough..maybe a faster motor would do you some justice and youll notice the speed increse
you rock doode...your probably ALOT better at soldering than i am haha my stuff is usually sloppy
haha., and also was the Gadoeng board smaller than the Auldey like mine was? isnt that just weeerd?
