Ok i had the controler about earlyier today trying to put a longer anttena in it, (have to buy one the one i had didnt work)

while it was apart i noticed the Xtal that detramns the frequinse *sp* it would be very ver easy to swap it out for a Xtal from a 1/10 scale radio. IF big IF we could find the Xtal on the board in the car, im sure u could solder the Xtal on it, even if u have to run wires from where the Xtal was and leave the Xtal sit below the board. If ya do this u can have 6 cars running at once.

Traxxas Xtals are only 10 bucks a set, and they have 6 channels so i guess u could actuly run 8 cars at once.

Sorry. There are no xtal on the car. Basically a tune circuit and not a sharp one at that. If like a regualr bit then its a regenative receiver but this look like it has an anp before the tuned inductor.

Basically would need to redesigned the entire front in feeding the RX2 chip to use a simple mix/osc scheme.


I though about today is to change the OSC resistor on both the TX2 and RX2 chip. This does nothing for changing the RF freq but changes the "tones" being generated/decoded. Could offer a way if feed into one RF source and if it mixes well could offer mutiple cars on on frequency. Required mutiple TX2 but only one OSC/BufferFinal circuit.

Hi peeps,,

By my count there are 6 possible freqs to run a modded ZZ right now,, (27,35,40,45,49,57)

But I did hear a rumor that MS will be releasing other "freqs" that will not interfere with the 27, and 49 that we have now,, sort of like 27B and 49B,, so this might mean we can race 8 cars at once if MS does manage to release new freqs.

All it would take is a steady soldering hand and a few donor clones to have some insane ZZ racing.
