My DRR on the way. :-)

Well I just ordered my first mini R/C the DRR. Just wondering/hoping that the perfex radio will work with it(the radio that comes with it looks disturbing ). Just basically for fun indoor use then I'll put some mods on it after a while.

Has anybody raced the DRR, I know it's not race worthy in stock form but once you've got the (bb's, foams, 180 motor(how much motor can the esc handle?), 6 cell batt's and a decient body as well as some suspension tuning, how would it compete against the other 1/24th on the market? Also does anybody have the graphite chassis parts and purple alum apparel(waist of money)?

Cheers

P.s. I know it's not one of the "elite" 1/24th on the market so please don't post that you think it's crap and that I should have bought an Abc DTM or a Tripmate or a Mini-X or so on.....

Sweet! The DRR is very cool and IM sure you will like it. I have raced mine and I can tell you with the upgrades you listed you will have a very race worthy car. Also the Mini Z transmitter works great and is much better than the stock DRR TX. Keep us posted on your hop ups.

Well I got my DRR today. Had a look at the TX, dam this thing is hidious, picked it up and it feels terrible(well to me anyway) so I took the crystal out and stuck it in my perfex. Ran in the motor (age old water dip style), cleaned it and got it ready to run. After the initial radio tuning the car still hangs a hard left when steering, so I put some spacers under the rear left motor mount, spacing the front suspension didn't seem to work. This took some of the problem away. I've read of this problem in a few threads on here so I'll refer to them after posting this. With 4 alkalines it was ok and the handling reminded me of my Hpi F1. All in all very happy, and once I fix the steering and have some hop-ups it will be awsome. Wish I had a high end 27mhz radio though, it would be easier just to tune everthing out with the radio now untill I fix the steering.

I got the Red MF1, hehe looks sweet. Plus once it's nice and warm outside I can set up a track on my balcony(which has heaps of grip).

Cheers all.

Here's the link ( http://www.tinyrc.com/forums/showthr...p?threadid=616 )

No actually it's on the 11th floor but I went crazy with some fiberglass mesh and duct tape, and will patch it up after winter so my car won't plumit to it's doom. Plus I'll have a border around the track so that it has to hit that before it hit's the fiberglass mesh. Should be all right(fingers crossed).

cheers.
