Best $9.95 ever spent...
Walmart they carry the Hot Wheels version of the slot racer, its a straight line or hot wheels track type racer that uses Tomy parts. For $9.95 I got a micro 2.6, the green gears (like 3.5:1 or something nuts like that), a pair of hard ribbed tires, a wheelie bar (for dual battery fanatics) and another Tomy yellow 1.2 battery.
Right now I have the 2.6 in my car with teal gears cuz it didn't have enough power to turn the green ones, but maybe once I do dual batteries I can run my 3.8 with the green gears when it arrives...by calculations that would reach a top speed of like 25 mph, which would be ballsy as hell. I know its impossible, but I got the parts, and I recommend dropping the $10 for the Hot Wheels track racer.

I haven't got a digital camera, but the package is about 4 inches wide, an inch deep, and 10 inches tall. Blue and orange, hot wheels colors, and the sides are rounded. I believe they're called KIT Racers.

Target has the HotWheels KIT sets for under $6.00. I picked up 2 just for the parts and found them stated with the TOMY logos. When Target drops the price, it usually means it is not a very long time before they close them out.

Vargo's got his hands full. See I have one car, so I can mod the hell out of it and see what I like and what I don't. That way I don't ever get a pile of cars waiting for repairs, its easier to keep tabs on whats up. Plus having one car only is cheaper

Thanks Pojo57 & Shocon2K. I picked up a few cars recently. I just use a suitcase to carry around all the remotes.
As soon as I find a free decent photo posting site, I will post some pictures.

i bought one of those and feel ripped off for having done so. clones are 4$ more and you get a whole car with probably a better motor. the tomy 2.6 is very weak. the tires are ok but not as nice as the slicks that come on most clones.

Yes, I got mine from Target for $5.88 or something.
I wonder why they would discontinue them so soon, didn't they just come out earlier this year? (in the US) I thought it was the replacement for the Hot WHeels XV Racer. (my son collects the XV racers)
Earlier this year.....

I didn't mean that Hotwheels would discontinue them but that Target may discontinue carrying them. Target likes to have rapid turn-over on products & if items don't move, they mark them down and then clearance them. Since they have marked them down while others still charge full price, I can only assume that they aren't moving for them and they are going to move them out.
