New antenna...less range?

Ok I just recently replaced the stock antenna on my Microsizer/BCG to a slightly longer wire I bought at an electronics store. Well when I removed the stock and stripped the end on the new wire I noticed it was not copper wiring which I thought (and hoped) that it was. Instead it was aluminum (I believe anyway....it doens't say anywhere on the package). So my question is this, will this have any major/noticable effect on range at all? If so should I just go find some copper wire and replace it again?

And I haven't been able to really test it yet because my controller broke (one of the stupid little button switchs busted so now it perpetually turns right...ugh) but thankfully I have on coming in from Hobbico. (Free of charge more kudo's for Customer Service! Woohoo! ) Anywhom, any help/suggestions on this would be much appreciated.

More than likley the cable is tinned copper. Tinned copper is used to help with the soldering. There is no preformance difference between bare copper wire and tinned copper wire. Just solder it on and you are good to go.
