3.8 motors burning out early?
My friend tells me that 3.8s burn out very quickly, he had a 3.0 and after a half an hour of use the motor ran like a 1.0 and its basically fried. Has anyone else experienced a 30 minute lifespan of a higher tuned motor such as a 3.0 or a 3.8? I don't really want to have spent $11 for 30 minutes.

My friend has a 3.8 in his WRX... Had it for a while now, no problems at all.

Hmmm...cuz I did a search on this webpage and it seems every post about 3.8s is "I had 3 and they burned out in a day" and crap like that, however having already paid for the motor from this site, I'm worried it will be like all the other 3.8s out there and just die right away. What is TinyRC's policy if something like that happens?
Also, does anyone know what size screw holds the steering mechanism cover on? Cuz I took it out to paint my rims and of course I lost the damn screw, and it basically HOLDS the car together, so I'm kinda in a tough spot. Anyone know what size it is? Thanks.

shocon2k, let me assure you that you have nothing to worry about. First of all, the reason why it may seem like you read a lot of threads about 3.8s burning out is simple: we sell hundreds of these, many more than any other vendor, and a few in every few hundred go bad. Because we sell so many more than anyone else, we do get several that go bad every so often, and those people tend to post - while the hundreds of non-failing 3.8 owners don't post about their working 3.8s! Secondly, we replace failed 3.8s free of charge, so there is no chance that you might waste your money.

I had pretty much figured about the percentage of people who post about them failing...its like with consumer reports, people without problems aren't gonna bother writing in and saying well everythings normal. I just needed some concrete statements like the one you just made about the return policy, just so I can be sure I'm safe, even if I get a buggy one. Thanks for the reassurance tinyrc, and I'll be sure to let everyone know how it works out.
