Improved Climbing
Here is an easy way to improve your Rover's ability to climb without flipping. The bar on the bottom of the track can be pulled off. There are 3 molded in plastic pins that keep it in place. CAREFULLY! pull this bar straight out and give it a try. I didn't have any increased problems with the treads coming off. The only thing is the pins kinda catch a bit on the treads when you start climbing an object. Time to start working on a suspension system like I saw with the Digi tanks.
Here is how it looks without the bar in place.

Cool! Have you tried adding weights to prevent backflipping when climbing?

Yes, the added weigh does help. I'm happier with those side rail removed and no weights. When I use both the underside of the tank bottoms out too easy. It doesn't flip, but it does not climb as good either.

Improved Climbing - weights on front
With plenty of torque, the Rover can carry some extra weight. There is a slot up front on the Desktop Rover that can be used to carry fishing weights, which move the center of gravity forwards and improve traction for climbing.

i just filled the whole front hole area with lead weights. It helped a little with climbing, but doesnt slow down the tank at all.

There are some cavities on the very front, just ahead of the "gun" IR Diode.
