Truck Bodies from Muscle Machines
I was at Target on my lunch break and found a 3 pack of Muscle Machines trucks. I bought the Ford set, they also had Jeep/Chrysler and Chevy. I have an F150, F250 and an Expedition, and they are modelled and painted quite well. The only concern initially is that the pick up beds will cause the body to sit high up on the chassis, but that's OK on a pick up! It comes with 3 trucks at 1/64 scale with some obnoxious monster suspension and tires, and a pull back motor. The 3 pack costs $5.
There are diecast parts (the chassis) but the actual body is plastic. I don't have my ZZ handy, so I'm not sure about the fit yet, but I can't wait to go home and take these apart and see if they'll work! I'll post pics tonight!

I wonder if you can drop the chassis on the pickup truck by cutting into the bed floor? I had a similar problem with RAM pickup truck body, the front part of the bed floor hits the circuit board cover. I'm thinking I can cover the hole on the bed with a homemade tiny pickup truck toolbox.

Those muscle cars are sweet! I'd love some Classic American Muscle for my wee car, but I haven't found any yet. Sigh.
Anyway, I think Ripper got the exact body I just was tooling around with. I started to cut part of the bed out, I think the only way this is going to happen is lose the bed. It's a good excuse to haul around an extra batt though!
zz, I don't know if you were talking about these trucks, but they are quite plastic. The chassis and side pipes are diecast, but the body itself is good ole plastic.
Anyway, here's the beginning. The package is in the background, and I have already removed the screw mounts from the truck body and am testing the fit

After more dremelling, I got it to sit a little lower. It still doesn't sit quite low enough though. I can't get the tab in the back to fit yet. I think the bed will have to come out.

And here's where the bed is cut away. I think I'll need to remove the rest of it and put on a cover of some sort, but what ever I do, the lights and roll bar are giong back on!
The other problem is that this is the shortest body, and it's just a hair too long for the ZZ tabs. I'll need to add some material to the body I guess. I hope that model putty has a pretty easy learning curve!

Oh yeah, it steers like a truck still. I'll need to be carving out the wheel wells in front too. But that's for another night. I'm all dremelled out.
