Oops, my steering goes to the left at startup ?!?
OK, I went to replace the motor with a new one, put it back to gether and wammo....the steering jerked to the left.
If I turn over the steering column magnet, it jerks to the right.
Now when it jerks to the left (original) at startup...when I push the right button, the magnet stays in the middle (no magnetism).
So basically when I turn it on the steering goes to the left...when I push the left button nothing happens *stays to the left* and then when I push the right button the steering goes straight/the middle. What the hell? When I reverse the magnet, the opposite happens so I am thinking both coils are getting juice....right?

it might be the gears....
going to the left hard, probably means that its tightening up..
im not sure....take out theaxles and clean it or what not...that might not be the problem....

Thanks for the quick reply...
But it is an electrical problem I belive because as soon as I turn the power on it goes to the left....due to of course the electromagnet.

Let me try to understand this. When you turn the controller on, the steering pulls left?
If that's the case, then it sounds like a stuck switch or something. If the switches still click, then it might be a deeper electrical problem. Is it a Bit or a Microsizer?

Its a bit (char-g)...
This happened after I changed out my motor.
I even put back the other motor just in case.
When the steering is to the left, I can hit the right directional button and it goes to the center, but not all the way to the right. Sound like to me that the coil that energises when I turn right is NOT energising.
Beats me....I may just have to give up and get another chassis.
Thanks

Well, if it only happens when you turn the controller on, then I'd say it's the controller. If it just does it all the time then I'd say it's the car.
The reason I ask if it's a Bit or MS is, the MS customer service in the States is really good. If something suggests a faulty part, they'll replace it for free.

Could be the controller....
The question is what happens when the controller turns on?
Does it send a charge to the car?
Are both coils at rest when the controller turns on OR are both coils charged when the controller turns on?
That will tell me if its the controller or the car.

Do both coils energize? Test this out with a small magnetic compass. BAE

Only one coil energises when the controller turns on, thus the steering wheel turns to the energised coil. When the right button is pushed, the one coil that is energised turns off but the other coil does not become energised.

As I said in another thread: Check the wires in your bit. CHECK them. Check them again. And then quadruple check them for good measure.

You got it...it was the wires, but they were stuck to that plastic wire stuff that work with the alignment.
Thanks...
PS - How did you get that picture of the 350Z on your profile...that's my Bit too. How can I get chrome front wheels to match my new back ones?

I believe you have to have over 100 posts, and to swap the front rims do a search.. basically you replace the entire front wheel knuckle.

It sounds like u may have a short circuit, look around the pcb,
and make sure that no metal is shorting out somewhere, also, check that the steering wire is not touching the pcb ne where else but the steering contact!!!
It could be the insulation on the enamelled steering wire is damaged and it is touching something on the pcb.
