HELP! Horrible range with 27 Mhz

Okay, this is weird, and I'm wondering if anyone else has been having this experience... or knows of a solution.

I'm getting horrible range with my 27 Mhz ZipZaps. The 49s have great range, but for some reason my 27s are very weak. Sometimes the signal seems to fade out just 3 or 4 feet from my controllers.

Any thoughts? Why am I getting such horrible range?

Been posted before but I won't flame ya for not knowing.

Try searching for antenna mod. In the meantime you can remove the PCB cover lift the PCB and untie the knot in the antenna that is under the PCB.

Hope this helps

Sorry, I looked around and didn't see any answers to this particular question. Thanks for your patience.

Loosening up the wire definitely seems to help. But is this normal? I mean, is it normal to get 2 or 3 feet of range with the 27 Mhzs? My batteries are fresh (phresh), so that ain't the problem.

27mhz is a common freq. used by cordless phones etc. etc. My 49mhz got great range where my 27 did not. There are mods in these forums about changing the controller antenna to a longer one and so on but just untieing the knot worked just fine for me.
