I would, but I don't have that set. I don't have any picture of the front and back of the controller pcb either, so there's not much for me to look at.

from what i have heard, the new sets don't have cripple capacitors that anyone can find. If your range is decent (10+ft?) then i would not get too worked up about it. My range on one of my cars is 6 inches, with no cripple capacitor to be found.

Actually, there was a post on another board that could point to a solution. The Auto Modellista set is 27 MHz. Check the crystal in the controller to see what the frequency is on the xtal. if it's not 27.000 then it may be detuned just enough to limit the range.
In any case, if there are pictures, I can take a closer look.
