Rules and Classes have been announced:
1) MicroSizer Arrive and Drive: participants may practice for 5 minutes (2 battery charges) and then race up to 20 laps with their best two lap times being averaged, using one of the MicroSizer demo cars we'll have at the show.
The top five finishers will receive a 3.8 motor (provided by TinyRC.com). The top three finishers will also receive a new MicroSizer. The winner will receive a MicroSizer with a 3.8 motor, 2.2 motor and 1.0 motor, as well as bragging rights.
2) Open Class: anything that fits on the track goes! Prizes will range from 3.8 motors (provided by TinyRC.com), MicroSizers, discount coupons and a special prize for the winner. Hint: set your car up for control in the corners.
Each participant gets five minutes practice and then is timed for 20 laps. Best overall time and fastest lap are the two categories. You may pre-register by emailing
lecherry@rogers.com with your car type and frequency.
3) You may race or practice anytime during the hobby show (Friday from noon to 6:00; Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 6:00).
4) We'll also have our 28' Prestige Mini-Z track set up - you are welcome to bring your cars and try the track. (You must check that your frequency is open before you drive though). I'll also have some F1 Mini-Zs for you to try.
5) We'll have a 20 to 30 foot "NASCAR style" oval set up with HPI Micro RS4s and our new Ozite Racing Carpet track and rail system. You are welcome to drive the track with one of our cars or yours.
Hope to see you at the show! I'm hoping someone will eclipse the magical 5 second/lap on the track.
