Light kits for bits........
Anyone know If I could use any of these on a zip.

I'm a newbie but I love these cars. So far I've gotten a porche 49mhz starter kit, the fast and furious tuner kit, the fast and furious body kit, and the american classics.

You would be better of to make your own....There are a couple places to find how to do it...one good site is qfm ....Cause if you bought from toy east(they are a good company) you'll have to pay shipping aand handling ....but you can go to radioshack and buy the same parts......Later

you can use those but you have to drill a hole in the headlight for the light to shine threw because zipzaps have painted headlights.

you can put together the same kit for about $4 (or less), but if you don't like soldering and don't want the hassle, then i guess it's OK...
i'd like to see a good source for LiIon battery holders w/soldering tabs (although the batteries with attached tabs can be ordered from Rat Shack)...

Or, you could use a pocket knife or other similar object to scrape the paint off. it works, I've done it! Here is a thread with a pic of my car. I was in the process of scratching the paint off the headlights... you can see that it's removed already over the main part of the headlight, and it looks fine. (no ugly scratches) Just be careful and patient when you do it, and it'll be fine. I've since removed the rest of the paint, and it's just fine.
Holes drilled for LEDs, IMVHO, don't look right at all. I think that a car with a big headlight molded into the body, and a little peep-hole drilled in the middle for a LED looks a little silly in the light.
That's my 2¢.

The zipzaps bodys are tinted not clear so its harder for the light to shine threw if you are using the eclipse or supra. the pt cruiser has a clear body like bits and the porche is just slightly tinted not as dark as the fast and furious sets.

Yeah The price is a little steep with the shipping added on, but I plan on ordering a few things at once so maybe it'll even out.
I've removed the paint and repainted some of the bodies and it was clear( I'm not touching the f&f sets though)

I wish I could do it myself but I can't solder and the radio shacks around here don't have leds small enough. I'm gonna head to the comp shops and see what they have.
