Threw the zip away
I was trying the dual bat mod and the blue wire broke off of the curcuit board. Then I pulled the rest of the blue wire off of the metal plate that goes to the motor, so I could put a new(longer)wire on it. I put the new wire on it and my bugar solder on the metal plate wouldn't let the motor sit in properly. Then I noticed that only a couple strands of wire were soldered to the curcuit board. I got pissed off and ripped the whole curcuit board off the chassis and threw it away. I am now going to go out and buy a microsizer(being none of the radio shacks have the ZZ anymore). I have two bats, the red ZZ motor, and the 2.6/3.2/3.8 motors. I am honestly proud of myself because normally I would have smashed the ZZ under my foot, right when the wire broke. I will buy another ZZ if I find one, being I have a Mustang body with the side and rear windows cut out, anxiously waiting for a home. Sorry for the long thread, Mike.

I would have bought it from you for $15. The wiring is fixable.

mwhahhah somewhat of a same incident happend to me
i tried the dual battery mod to make it fit inside the chassis with some cutting..and so i cut, and so some wires came off...
when i soldered one wire back on, another came off...and this kept happening..
the charger tabs are really annoying too, kept coming out of place...
now my ZZ sits on the floor, with pcb exposed, no rims, no wheels, no body.....im not sure if i want to fix it at all...
if anyone wants my dead ZZ chassis that has wires broken etc....
lemme know..

fixing the rear axle slip problem
my rear axle is currently being held in place by a match stick.
I just cut it to the right length then made it thinner a bit by pealing a layer of the paper off.
It seems to be working great for me.
i have pictures but i forgot the USB cable for my camera today.
if anyone wants to see i'll post them.

A way to fix the reax axle concern is to use gel type krazy glue and to put just a dab on the par of the chasis that is worn. the reason for using the the gel type glue is it can be sculpted so the fit is not too tight. This fix works great! And if and when it wears again just do the repair again.

BLWNSTNG, I think you need to practice patience if you plan on jumping into modding things. Breaking stuff when you mess up seems kinda childish. I'm not trying to pick on you or anything, but that scenario kinda reminded me of the time a friend of mine was trying to change a tire on my uncles car while my uncle was sitting in it stuck on the highway. Anyway my friend broke the tire iron in the process and got really mad, he pulled out a gun and shot my uncle in his a s s . My uncles ass hasn't been the same ever since and he's really pisssed about it.
Thanks
I made that up.

1: foil from a pack of smokes works sort of but its a pain.
2: glue worked for about a day
3: i have a car with a way better drive train so im not that concerned about it at the moment

I had several probllems w/wires when i first started tinkering, i after a whole lot of work i was able to salvage 6 cars, all very fast, however the zips are only fast because i did swapped pcbs from a bit into the zip, anyone with a bit pcb and a zip, its well worth the trouble, my fast and furious zip with bit pcb and nos motor is tooo fast. it spins out like a bit would even with the additional weight. its too fast for my track so i use it as a drag racer..(straight only)

I agree with you natedogg I did that PCB swap too and like the way the zip handles way better than my MS It was well worth wasting a bit for.

Marc, i dont know why but i can handle my bits at top speed around corners much better than my modded zip, it spins put over and over, it has the good grip tires on it, just way too mush torque, i think maybe if i use the green gears itll help a little, i havent tried yet, i just love how fast it is that i havent tinkered with it since the mod.
