Mods so far:
Body lightened (sanded out inside about a third of the body thickness)
Rims chopped to 4-spoke (less reciprocating mass)
Slammed body (cut new slots front and rear)
Shaved out wheel wells to fit wheels when lowered.
Majorly cambered front wheels.
Chassis shaved to lighten.
PCB cover removed
Antenna pig-tailed.
Pearl blue metallic paint.
What's coming up:
Shave out windows to lighten even more.
Remove paint from headlights and tailligihts for painting or possible LEDs for 'show' when not racing.
Notes on mods:
Paint looks much better in person than in pictures; I guess with macro zoomed in that much it's easy to spot every imperfection.
Negative camber on front wheels (VERY hard to do) is functional and helps with cornering ALOT. The rear slides out a bit too easy; that was remedied with the 'performance' treaded tires from a zip zap wheel/tire kit. I didn't try this with anything larger than my 1.6 motor yet though. I fear on the 3.8 it might be a bit too much and send the car spinning out... Oh well!

I'd like to perfect the method a bit before I release a real how-to on it, with pictures. I do get a little bit of tire-rub on the inside of the tire against the steering arm right now (despite having shaved it down to almost breaking) so my methods are not yet perfect. I -may- have to custom make the steering arms out of a non-ferrous metal like billet aluminum (I have access to a HAAS mill and lathe) that would be light-weight enough but still function correctly.
Basic how-to (I take NO responsibility of you screw it, it is easy to TOAST your bit this way ), you have to re-drill new holes for the 'upper strut' of each steering knuckle that are moved inwards towards the body slightly. It's okay to siamese the hole with the existing hole as long as there isn't enough play for the 'strut' to slide back into the original hole. Now the fun part. You have to widen the hole in the steering arm by cutting towards the center of the arm. Careful when doing this, it's easy to crack the plastic. You'll also have to sand or file down the outer edges of the steering arm otherwise it'll rub against the inner side of the tire. If you don't adjust the steering arm, it'll be hard to turn, and you'll have MASSIVE toe-in, which will make your car plow and slow it down.

Well, originally I had the windows masked off when I painted it metallic black. But I decided to repaint, so I paint-thinnered the whole car and decided that I wanted to cut the windows out anyway, so I didn't need to mask them off. Rims look shiny because it's a different set; the set in the first series of pictures were just there so I could test the drop. I'm going to make a 2nd set of rims that will be painted flat black (race style) for racing; leave these chromed out for 'show'.

Thanks, I gotta get a couple more steering arms to do some testing with (I broke this one just this morning) before I can really test it out with a fast motor. Anyone got some broken bit chassis they wanna send me? I'll pay 1 dollar per broken chassis + postage!

The camber mod looks great! I would be interested in the possibility of doing this to the rear. That's where all my bits could use the extra grip the camber would provide. I imagine that would be very difficult to do with the straight axel.

does the camber mod make drifting easier? cause with real cars high camber makes the tyre right itself when the car rolls and it helps drifting..

I broke my camber-adjusted steering arm. No more testing for me. Gotta find another spare steering arm first... all of mine have already been trashed for testing except the one in my Z booster but I'm not gonna touch that.
