Throttle limiting the KT-18
I know we had a thread about this a while back, but somehow we missed the simplest method. A few of us posted mechanical examples to limit the throttle for new drivers further than the KT-18 adjustments allowed. The training mode or adjusting the limiter in standard mode did not go slow enough.
What I failed to realize was that you can also reduce the throttle settings in training mode just like the standard mode. You can go so low that the car does not even start to move until ¾ throttle. I like my throttle set to only the speed the track layout can handle. If I can’t control the car when I punch full throttle down the longest straight, I reduce it. This allows for much more consistent (and enjoyable) driving. A added benefit is no wheel spin on full throttle straight line acceleration, (electronic limited slip) and more precise speed control.
Buy reducing the throttle significantly it can turn a small tight course from frustrating to challenging. It can keep new users from getting frustrated, as well as offer a sense of acomplishment when they master a slow moving car and can bump up there speed settings. The dNaNo scales down everything but the speed. I am sure most have figured this out, but I thought I would post just in case I wasn’t the only one who missed it.
